Objective. To consider the evolution of sights of a society on the cultural heritage of ancient Greece.
Methods . Theoretical analysis, and generalization.
Results. Analysis gives evidences that humanistic ideals of an ancient Greek civilization have greatly influenced many spheres of social life.
Conclusion. An appeal to the heritage of ancient Greece in various eras of modern age has laid the foundation for the revival of such a social phenomenon as the modern Olympic Games.
