Objective. To consider and integrate data about the second Russian Olympiad, its prerequisites (including multi-faceted sports life of the city), preparation for, holding competitions in different sports events, competition results on the basis of historical and literary information analysis.
Methods. Theoretical analysis and integration.
Results. Analysis results demonstrate that the second Russian Olympiad, held in Riga in 1914, has played an important role in sport development in the Russian Empire.
Conclusion. Generalization of experience of organizing and holding the second Russian Olympiad contributes to return of numerous superlative chapters of history of the national sport and the Olympic Movement from oblivion.
