The paper demonstrates the contribution of competitive performance of individual athletes in different sports into the overall success of national teams at the Olympic Games, the technologies used to assess the performance of sports national federations, and the distribution of financing between sports organizations in the countries, which have occupied high places in the unofficial team standings at the Olympics. The variety of approaches to the selection, analysis and recording of performance indicators of national sports federations in determining the amount of their financing is revealed. The selection of evaluation criteria is characterized by the desire to cover all components of the activities of an organization: resources provision, management processes, and results of operations. The analysis of performance indicators of sports federations is based on the principles of objectivity, priority, efficiency, rationality, and consistency. Indicators of performance of national federations are taken into account when assessing their financial costs and requests, negotiating contracts for financial support, controlling and managing the use of financial resources.
